Elected Officials. They "run the rides." Life is not good when the rides don't run. Proactivity, creativity? Not their job. The community at large must do that. And do it TOGETHER to achieve focus, for the well-being of the community, for the common good.Human Development through Community Development through Business Development. That's Neighbors 100 Albion.
Neighbors 100 Albion NY. Not politics. Not Religion. Not philosophy. Not finance. Just BUSINESS, plain and simple.

Neighbor-Owner businesses: 1. adequately capitalized--w/o debt; 2. create local tax revenue; 3. create local wealth; 4. create local jobs; 5. build community.
Here's an IDEA for getting started.
1. 30 days after we number 100 we each put a $100 on the table. We contract a lawyer to give our group a structure and keep our money in escrow in the name of that structure.
2. A year from that time we each put a $1000 on the table. Ideally, the $1000 should be money we have SAVED over that year, the "Saving Year."
3. During the Saving Year we decide what kind of business to establish. It must be a business with growth potential--so we can look forward to a return on investment soon. Maybe it should be brick-n-mortar initially; a) a business we can see, enjoy, and support; b) a business that develops community; c) a business that produces local tax revenue; d) a business that creates local employment.
Thomas Jefferson saw success for America in its being a land of farmers. He attributed the fall of Rome to the demise of farming, especially the farmer spirit and character. Jefferson was ignored, actually pushed aside. We can approach a return to growing our own food by growing our own businesses--revitalizing the farmer spirit and character.
